About us

WinCity Helps aims to become a one-stop clearinghouse of information about nonprofits, government agencies, and other organizations working in our community to provide services to the economically disadvantaged, women, LGBTQ+, people of color, and other marginalized communities. Our first project focuses on establishing a central database of Winchester and Clark County organizations that rely on volunteers, donations, and in-kind gifts. We hope to match people looking for volunteer opportunities with organizations needing help.

Later, we plan to expand our services to match people in need of services with organizations providing help, whether local or regional.

Beyond that . . . who knows?

Who we are

This project is a joint venture between Humanists of Winchester and WinCity Media. Volunteers from both organizations run WinCity Helps. We were inspired by a similar service in Lexington called LexHelps, from which we borrowed and adapted our name.

Inclusivity

WinCity Helps believes strongly in inclusivity. All of the organizations listed in our database have answered “yes” to the following statement:

Do you serve everyone without discrimination regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or health condition?
